    Busa or Blackbird?

Between say a 05 to 07 Blackbird or same age Busa, which bike is better for day to day use? I commute everyday on the bike so would have to handle that. Not that interested in absolute speed but want some sportiness.

Not ready to jump yet but always wanted a Busa, then I recently tripped over Blackbirds which I think I prefer. That mainly due to a slightly more relaxed riding position.

Have heard the Busa called the fat mans sportsbike. Which in my case fits.

Be better off with a zx12r. Have owned a blackbird and zx12. The 12 comfort level is the same as the blackbird but the handling, ground clearance is better on the 12 if you want to corner at any speed.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/moto...-661318783.htm cheap one but idd try find later one.

Really? I would have thought the 12 was a lot more sporty?

It is but the comfort level is very good. My wife thinks the 12 back seat is better also. The blackbird gave me bad back after extended hrs riding and the zx12 didn't.

I don't know anything about busas. Never had a chance to ride one (don't think the shop thought I was a safe option for test ride) and half the older busa colour schemes don't appeal to me.

ZX12 is an interesting option. What are they like about town?

Not hard to ride in town. Easier than a litre bike due to more torque. 2nd or 3rd gear holds 50kph.

If wanting a big bike for around 6k-8k price they are a very good option. Over 8k starts to get zx14 2007 models etc.

Birds are good bikes but I wore the fairings away on mine so scratching isn't their strong point.

12rs arnt as heavy either. My 14r was 260kg and the 12rs were about 220kg from memory.

Busa!!!! The Busa is no more difficult to punt in the twisty stuff than any other big bike, riders need to look at themselves first, the bike second. Buy mine (on TM)and i'll teach you how to ride a Busa effectively. Busa will nanna about as a shopping trolley, will fang in the twisties, will make like a dragster, and is a LEDGEND, in a way the blackbird, zx12 and the like will NEVER, be.

Fly into CHCH on a friday, spend the afternoon at Ruapuna, ride it home the next day, will cover the costs and sort the logistics at my asking price. Now you are curious, you gotta figure out which one is mine..........

That's the last of the unrestricted ones. Pre 300kph limiting. After that model the air intake snout is more aerodynamic looking but the limiters started.
Saying that mine had 167 rwhp and never reached the limiter so factory claims arnt always worth listning to.

Its was the kind of bike that could sit at 90-110 no problem and have an evil top end with power and torque if requested.
