To start of the conversation, i've done 220km/hr yesterday on a backroad in New Plymouth. I can believe how quick she can go. They reckon the max speed on her is 280 ish km/hr, so I guess maybe next time

I have been measured at 240 kmh on a closed road with proper timing gear (on a Katana), yet I can never seem to get any of my current bikes over 104 kmh.

I think we will see a lot of 104kph admissions here. I used to top out at 109kpm, but read in an add recently that anything above 104 and I would self destruct and take out dozens of innocent people with me on my reckless path to hell.

You should come down to Wellington when the Gladstone Hill climb quarter mile sprints are on and really test it out. It's a lot of fun, safe and actual recorded speeds, not these ambitious speedo numbers. My MV F3 topped out showing 282 (or somewhere about that) with a true 254kph. Puts an end to all those pub bragging tales.

March and Nov I think are the usual times for the sprints. cliffhanger.org.nz

21st, and you gotta pedal really hard to get that chain to jump onto the smallest sprocket at the back

A little over 160km/h on one of the motorways near Westgate. There are a few straight stretches of motorway near there that seem perfect for testing.

90 km/hr, but I did take my car up to 104 km/hr yesterday.

I wonder, is the OP 12 or 13 years old, do you think?

...my 104kph was probably not accurate...I'm not that much of a daredevil...I did really whizz speedily down a steep Lyttelton hill on an engineless Matchless once...was quite slow pushing it back up to the top though...about a k an hour...I was quite reckless back then though...
