what the fuck is up with that front end. its sort of like an Earles fork but we have kept the sliders?

    Also, don't judge: I want a 1975 Gold Wing.
They do that to help them steer. Read an article on trikes ages ago.

The rest looks pretty reasonable assuming it can be put back to Standard.
Those early wings were actually reasonably sporty for their time.
The forks also appear more leading link than Ernie Earles

    Leading link
(the phantom twin first pic) was designed by Spondon before they were even called Spondon.
They built the case patterns at nightschool.
The forks appear to be closest to the early 60's DOT forks on the far right.

It's a mini swingarm on the front. Can't remember why - talked to a trike guy some years back who had a similar set-up, he swore by it.

Not necessarily. And mechanical anti-dive robs traction.

GYTR would be a bit unless it came in a deal. I am always disappointed in those pipes construction wise - they look like the budget end ex China mufflers. Purely a visual observation at my end. Sound ace.

You can buy a new S1000r with a free Akas muffler for $22,500 .....

What makes someone do this to a perfectly good motorcycle and then expect stupid money for it?
    Is it drugs?

    What?

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/moto...1094608032.htm

This is the ugliest POS I have seen in awhile.
Fifty yards of pipe wrap and the muffler pointing straight up?

Also what is this "air line" that he had cleaned?
Is it part of the powerband?

I'd love to stick up for whomever built it...but it's a bloody terrible job done of it.

What is it about the Yamaha singles that makes people do things like that to them ?
They aren't bad bikes to start with but I've never seen one that has actually been improved to any worthwhile degree.

Yamaha should have a policy of buying back any that are this badly fucked up - and crush them.

no wonder Dues has gone out of business here, although the owner needs to provide proof that it came from them...
