I once went with a mate to pay and pick up a bike he'd arranged to buy. Paid in coins, biggest were half crowns - 2/6d or 25c - from memory it was something like 200 quid - $400.
i did say quietly to him when I picked him and the coin up that he could have changed it first...he just gave an evil grin and said, fuck that...
Nothing that exciting sadly. Picked him up from the airport, turned out to be an Asian student. $20k in 4 neat ANZ logo'd bags gave extra reassurance, but I still checked. So much cash some of those kids.
And no, I didn't keep the bag. Wasn't sure what else it had lugged over the years...
Asians often have a bad habit of carrying around wads of cash which can make them a target. I remember getting 5k to buy a van and virtually sweating the whole time, could have had a sign hanging around my neck. Guess I wouldn't do good as a professional poker player.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.

That's just a pathetic excuse. If you read the rules (which sadly I have had to) there is no restriction about accepting cash: just some reporting and declaration and whatnot. As long as the money is legit then they're fine. All they are doing is going "I cannot be arsed handling this and being responsible for it.".
