Probably the wrong thread for it as this is actually pretty cool, probably the only plated of that model on tardme and comes with the goodies to switch it back.

Would be fun to ride but the tank option isn't very nice to look at. BMW ally tank would have been perfect

Yep, better tanks out there but that BMW monstrosity wouldn't be on my list, certainly not for a bike that size either

I had one of these. Road legal for 800. Should have cut some bits off it before selling it.

I just don't get it. Import a lot of bolt on parts that make it look like shit then whack it up on trade me for stupid money.

    Are people really that stupid?

The cx 500 complete kit is 795 pounds - $2000 plus freight and bike worth $1000 plus $1200 paint max. Cost under $4000. Resale value would be under $4k for a quick sale. $8k is in dream land. Mine will owe $5.5 and idd say its quick sale value would be $4k. Its only really worth money to the guy that builds it. To others its just a bike purchase. Imagine someone asking you how long it took to build your bike and having to say someone else built it. I would be embarrassed (its likely I wouldn't want park it near people that might ask questions).

love the guys listing ""there the same as the CX500" yer right try getting top end parts for a 400 as far as Honda japan is concerned cx400's don't exist any more so no pistons rings or gaskets and the 500 stuff doesn't fit. hope it doesn't break down or it's a $8000 garage ornament.

Wow that's hitting a decent second hand 1000cc superbike money.

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

Modified 2007 Thruxton for the price of a new one! Somebody hasn't realised that all that shit you put on it doesn't make it more valuable.

9 and a half thousand on the odometer. Have to wonder what the point of all that expense was on a bike that has hardly been ridden.

Billet tops on stock CV carbs and a CNC clutch "dresser" kit, what the fuck? I would've rather put that money in the piggy bank labelled "Keihin flatslides".

Yes. People dress them up with pointless farkles. I have toyed with the idea of one with no balancer shaft, 904cc, ported, Flatslides and straight pipes, with decent forks and light wheels and good suspension and a massive weight reduction programme....

Sure, its $20k, but it would surprise a lot of people and be cool as fuck.

    In fact:

that. I want that. (the top one on the spoked wheels)

I dont think Richard Pollock has ever built a bike I wouldn't own. or covet. or something.

What sort of money would it pull ?

OR : I love the thing and plan to fighter it,with bars and more adjustable pegs. The old body just isn't enjoying the style anymore. So, if I got a couple of bob for it,I'd move it to a good home.
Otherwise I'll change the personna and keep the beast forever.

You'd never go hungry with Nigella Gaz.
If it weren't for flashbacks...I'd have no memory at all..

LSL bars and some adjustable footpegs, maybe some brakelines and fucking about. A grand? maybe a bit more?

How much sunk money have you got in the old girl? Plenty. Tart it up and keep it.

I'd never consider a Bonnie.. . until I saw that one, and more the second one. Would be interesting how much weight was pulled off as it was just embarrassing that the 60s version had similar performance.
Don't you look at my accountant.
