Hilarious.... only thing is, I had already said I wasn't sure of the spelling in the post above, but got all the other details right including the tuners name which certainly isn't common knowledge or likely googleable, you on the other hand specified the completely wrong model not once but twice in a row. Its still funny. but not as funny as you still trying to make out it was a one off typo.

You did well Husa, your research was something I hadn't found, and interesting indeed. And yes you spelt it right earlier. Digging up this old stuff is bloody interesting though.
    Sorry about thread highjack.

I posted some stuff somewhere about the 5 valvers and the 7 valvers Yamaha initially did from Kevin Cameron(but I can't remember where.)
I never got around to posting the Yamaha and bimota stuff Beppe Russo also did.
He was always able to get better HP and speed than the Yamaha factory were, but I think all he was dynoing 365 days a year much like Roberts guy Bud Askland was.

I don't think Yamaha screw as much out of their engines as they could. GasGas got more power from the WR engines than Yamaha did I'm led to believe, as an example.

Years ago I worked with a guy that did some of the head design on the Britten, he had a story about a Japanese magazine (or some sort of media) coming to look at the Britten team and the bikes etc. But he got suspicious when the "reporters" started asking very detailed questions and taking pictures of their 5 valve head, he thought that they were engineers posing as reporters.

That Cameron 5v and 7V stuff I talked about I actually gave that magazine and another to John when he was thinking of doing the 5v (I was very surprised to get the magazine back plus a pile of the obligatory posters) he was a nice dude actually kind of shy in some ways)
Yet he could talk almost anyone into doing stuff or giving stuff to him just with his enthusiasm, Shit he could even sweet talk old Mrs Whiting and not even old Mr Whiting could do that)
I used to chuckle every time he came in to get Valve springs or some other bits, (The inner vale springs on the Britten were std Honda clutch springs)
PS what year is the 501? I have one of those

Just a few hours ago there was a big classic bike auction conducted by Coys in Britain. These are just the ones MCN thought worthy of mention, but since these were the prices paid they can be assumed to be the market value. Not that you'll see many bikes like these hereabout.

    All prices in Pounds.

    Royal Enfield Constellation - 11,000

    1994 Honda RC45 - 30,000

    Cagiva GP500 Tipo (ex Raymond Roche) - - 70,000

    1957 Ducati 125GP Bialbero - 63,000

    Moto Guzzi 500 Bicylindri GP - 100,000

    Ducati Desmosedici - 32,000

    Moto Guzzi 500 V8 GP - 176,000

    1927 Brough Superior - 110,000

    1964 Bianchi 500 Bicilindrica Bialbero - 110,000

Yeah. $333,000.00 wouldn't have bought the Guzzi V8. Be a bugger to win that much money and not be able to buy the motorbike you really wanted.
I'd probably have to drown my sorrows.
