    Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep.

Hitcher receives the correspondence and he is away at the moment so might be a delay on the response from the website approach.

11-15hrs is probably the window, but majority are in within 14hrs. Numbers will determine how the Northern start is run but they would normally get away at 0630. We try to keep the 1KC routes fairly flowy and some riders stop for big feeds, but a steady pace with minimal stops should achieve 13hours without too much stress.

I would be happy enough just to finish the run this year the Honda has unfinished business with the C1KC so the Kawasaki can stay in the garage for this one

    2015 Iron Butt Reports.

A link to some daily ride reports from this year's Iron Butt ride. I have only read 'Day -1' so far but should be a good read. Read the -1, -2, -3 day reports first. These lead up to the start of the ride. The -3 day report gives a good overview of what the rally entails.

    Consider this ...

1600 km's ... actually 1635 km's (1000 miles) is a long way. Some have never done that distance before (especially in a 24 hour period) ... and may crash due to their own inabilities. Some may crash due a known (or unknown) medical condition.

Well you need to ride overnight, so restricted riders having a curfew of 10pm...

    1. 1,000 miles is 1,609.34km.
    2. NZ Distance Riders highly recommended that riders condition themselves and their machines before riding these sorts of distances in a set time period. A section of www.distanceriders.org.nz is devoted to this important matter.
    3. Distance riders are a certain breed of people. That breed of people is attracted to participating in these sorts of events. Riders partial to one-piece leathers and either sports bikes or scooters generally prefer to stay at home and watch the Kardashians.
    4. Crashing due to known or unknown medical conditions can happen anywhere at any time. Distance riding is unlikely to exacerbate any such propensity. And my life has been on the line in circumstances such as you describe. However riders will make their own assessments of their riding abilities and the risks inherent in riding at least 1,609.34km in a 24-hour period.
