After a while I forgot the pain but they definitely went in the wash as soon as I got home.

Some observations, a tall 120kg bike is not very stable in a straight line, but awesome everywhere else,

I went into the depths of the Bombing range in the worst conditions I've ever seen and the RMX did it effortlessly, I climbed a couple of dunes which I would have thought were impossible on dot rated tires and dropped off the mighty big dipper and lived.

One off the best and worst rides ever all in one which pretty much sums up the RMX, I have some ideas for mods to improve things and now have a bike that can go pretty much anywhere.

One last observation on tight road corners once you get used to the two stroke engine the lack of weight allows you to run right to the edge of the 606 dunlops and you feel as if you would fall over if you went much further, great fun indeed (I think I'm hooked on this thing)

What did the kids at the bike park think of the RMX?

I'm guessing they weren't sure, gave some strange bewildered looks but would have been mighty jealous if they had known where I'd just come from. and sadly some of them may never go there

    Hmmm,

this is my dilemma - do I stay with my bike and or get something a little bigger as I actually quite like te road ridoing thing. The Terra is ok on the beach, I went and had a ride around the lagoon at Kaipara South head a few weeks ago but I wouldn't take it anywhere near the dunes. I would like a more dirt oriented bike but it's not as good on the road- I really regret selling my WR now:-(

What about Sunday? If I come down via PW to the Nikau cafe It will take me 1.45 hrs or so and can go off down the west coast roads to Raglan or maybe up through Te Mata somewhere. I am happy to leave here quite early. Or I could just go more or less direct but I would like to go out to Te Akau and down to the wharf etc- long time since I have been out there

    cheers

    Yeah next weekend would work.

If we are lucky enough Kiatuna might be allowed out. 10bikekid on his 2smoker? Whoever is keen.

    Hey mate,

Gonna be going to the MR Motorcycles Charity Trail Ride at Waikaretu Valley Road on Sunday http://www.silverbullet.co.nz/event.php?id=11080

Could the husky do it? Apparently its not to hard..... Im actually gonna trailor my bike there to take more gas etc and not wear the knobblies so much.

Edit: would ask if you'd be keen tomorrow, but put my dirt tyres on today and the rear AC10 is half shot, couldn't afford to wear it more, as I'm gonna need it all on Sunday

Did you have the WRR before? I was seriously thinking of selling it not long ago because of the lack of power, but I've decided there just isn't anything in the market that ticks all the boxes, If only Yamaha had made it a 300 or 350 stock...
Current plan is to keep it as it is a small do anything bike, trails, road and adv.... And put the 290 kit on it at some stage soon. When I have my full I'll go muliti bike and have the wrr + bike x.... Maybe a speed tripple have to wait and see.

Have you seen that new CCM Adventure bike? 450 long service life, light etc.

My last bike was a Husky WR300. Ironically the guy that I sold it to was going to get it registered so he could ride to trail rides . I should have kept it then I could have chased chooks as well:-)

Given that there was the trail ride at Waikarutu today I went the other way -----just about didn't head into the Waikato as it was pretty foggy and had the closest call I have had since starting to ride on the road. Coming across the top of the Bombays there were three or 4 plastic kyaks bouncing accross the road- luckily there was a gap. Also found Matahuru Rd, and then went up towards Whitianga and went across the 309 road and back home via Miranda and Kaiua etc.
