How long have you had that bike?
100k! Well done indeed Mr Jatz!
I haven't read through all of this thread yet, but what I have read is quite inspiring.
I sold off my XT400 and NXR125 (DB1k 2009 & 2010) a few years ago now.
But have recently bought a TDR250, so hope to do some more adv riding with that soon.
Good to see you are still hard at it.

Not as much as I should though. Been a bit quiet just lately. M'be I need to do some of these long distance ride things. Know anything about those ? I've had the bike around 4 yrs I think
Now there's a name from the dim, distant past Last time I saw you, you was disappearing in a cloud of dust over the Old Dunstan on the little 125, after asking if you could ride with ex MrsJatz and I in Lawrence, you were worried you'd hold us up though Fat chance of that happening. I also recall you getting a knee down coming down Altimarloch on an early D.B. that was priceless.
Good to see your still around
I've been super slack at taking pics and updating this thread. I may just have to resurrect it a bit, know I know people still read it.
Interesting blog thing you've got going there.
Goodness.....it's been a while
I've been a bit quiet just lately. not getting out as much as I should. Anyway... I thought I'd update this thing a wee bit.
Firstly. After much soul searching and a small number of tears (like this guy ) I let the 800 go to a new home. I couldn't even bring myself to take any pics on the way to Springs Junction on the delivery ride. So here's a file one
But on the + side I've been trawling trademe looking for a replacement in the future
In other news...
I got this
Which I've only really ridden a handfull of times
It was only closed if you were in a car or on a big bike which I wasn't
It was good to poke around the forestry for a bit, without worrying about dropping the thing.
It's spent most of it's time in bits while I toiled away in the rat race and waited for some of these.
Anyhooo... Now it looks something like this
I also had to organize one of these official looking pieces of paper for it
Piled up all the stuff I think I might need
Cleaned the bike meticulously with a double waterblasting, all over going over every little crevice and crack.
The bike was then shrink wrapped for the ride (on the back of the ute ) to Chch to be loaded into a container.
Now I'm getting mildly excited Jump on a couple of planes shortly and follow the bike.
I'll try to keep this updated as I go but internets could be in short supply. And I mighteven use a proper camera to take pics, not just my phone.
Or I'll just stick some shit on here when I get back.
