I hope there were a bunch of old farts standing round sucking their teeth and tut tutting at the Vincent with the modern wheels etc.

    I videoed the Lavs:

I had to drop the muzak over it because the PA was blasting the type of music that gets vids deleted from YT.

Here's some of the other bikes too.

The Indian at the start is my current long term test bike:

Pretty sure the 750 at the 1.35min mark belongs to my mate House, who also has a Laverda race bike based on the SF.
Good to see he drags it out of the man cave every now and then.
I miss my SF750, it was a nice handling bike but not without it's issues as all italian bikes seem to be.

Not that they weren't appreciated for it back then, but history shows that style-wise at least they were a very long way ahead of their time.

The Jota was the "man's bike" of the 70's, although there was a nice 750 SFC running around the North Shore in the mid 70's. I craved an SFC 1000 in the 80's (I was "between bikes" for several years.....). Every time I went to see the folks at Whangamata, I'd see an SFC blitzing the Kopu-Hikuai-Whangamata road. I was sure the bastard would wait for me, then taunt me!

Can't beat the look of a slightly warmed over SOHC CB750

I do wish for a Jota though - hard core stuff when I was a young lad. Stuff of dreams.

HA similar - it was yellow fastback Norton that used to frequent down road when I was a lad. And the Z900 over the road, but he crashed that and got a Camaro. Apparently Camaro's cannot leave the drive without doing a durb

The BEst 'Vincent" I've ever seen was a Norvin.... I have no issue with modernising, It's the Motor that is the special part of a Vinnie.....
