There's a lot of it about

Never know who you're going to meet on a day. Currently having our carpet replaced in the lounge/dining area and the guy doing it under contract is a lesson not to judge a book by its cover, for sure.

Turns out he not only drives an Audi S4, but also owns a 748 Duc! A keen biker from way back, naturally we had a lot in common. Unfortunately he is here to do a job, so we can't gasbag as much as we'd like.

As much as he loves the 748, he'd like a 916. There must be something in this carpet laying work...

Surely there are plenty of other things you can judge him by.

    Does he have tattoos?

Is he a recreational drug user?

    Does he question official stories?

Has he ever had an abortion?

Ummm... It's an expression meaning that you don't know someone until you talk to them. Also, judging a person does not equate with condemming them. To judge is to form a conclusion.

Today he just seemed like an ordinary guy doing a job. To discover he is into bikes, sports cars, (he has a 400hp RX3), was a pleasant surprise. The lesson is that you never know who you are looking at.

I used to come and have a coffee with you when I was doing flooring work in your area, good to have an hour or so off in the middle of the day, before you knock off.

Years ago I worked in flooring in Rotorua, a workmate had long hair, wore sharkies (wrap sunny's for those don't know) day or night, had tattoos', rode a Bonnie and was nearly always stoned to some degree, but he was bloody good vinyl layer. The boss would have to go with him to the jobs to ''assure'' the customer Shane was no threat.

Do you think Ed's forgotten, or do you think we care?
