    Yep. XJR.
But watch out for the popo.
They are deceptively fast, as you most probable know.

I vote ZZR, SRAD, XJR out of those three.

But you should get this one instead.

Pay a bit more for a nicer specimen. The sweet spot for bikes is around 6-7k -- low miles, good conditions, relatively new machines can be had in this price range.

    Who? The popo?

They only catch bikes by pulling a U-turn in front of them.

HA! so you have already made a tentative choice

Oh nope. The Yammy by a nose at this stage, that gixxer 1100 is awesome for sure but nought really collectable about it. It would always be a close second to the old slingshot in my eyes I think. Had a real soft spot for it, was harder to let go than the moderns I sold.

I knew I shouldn't have started looking already.

Fate shall decide, I have another deal on the table if I can sign it on Friday it will be hard to go past.

I have both a ZZR1100 and FJ1200 (same motor as the XJR) in my garage.

Motor wise they both have advantages/disadvantages over the other..... When I bought the ZZR my local dealer mechanic's comment was 'they are an honest bike'. Kwaka's do/can suffer from rear shock and fork seals if left standing DAMHIK! The performance even by today's standards is pretty good. Once 'on song' you have 5K of power available and it keeps coming, and coming, and coming. Handling? They are NO sprotbike, expect to ride it like an ST1300/FJR1300 etc. The big Zed was always a 'continent destroyer'. Dial in 100mph and Goooooo. The biggest fault? Real power starts at 6K, or 150+kph in top, and its a VERY easy bike to go fast on.

The FJ/XJ donk has been around since christ was a cadet. The motor's an anachronism for today. The FJ1100 was first produced in the early 80's and they got it right as far as the motor went, the longevity of the model, and the fact they are still regarded as very competent touring machine today is testament to that. It wont have to top end power of the big Zed, but for 'real world' riding, the motor is far more flexible (top gear roll on at legal speeds). My FJ12 does out grunt the Zed in the lower speed regions (the old FJ was reknown for it's torque). It's a very smooth linear power delivery, rather than the huge and I do mean HUGE rush of power the Zed give over 6krpm.

    My choice XJR then ZZR.....
