    Registering a newly built bike

    Hi, first post.
I'm building a 1924 Douglas from parts. I've been told I will never register this for use on NZ roads as it was never registered before and therefore not in the NZTA records.
Is this true or are there ways of registering a vehicle built like this? It will be as close to original as is humanly possible.

    Regards,
    Stephen

Not true ... it CAN be done.

Talk to the people at ANY VTNZ testing station. There are a few hoop's you'll need to jump through ... but it CAN be done.

A chat to a Vintage car/motorcycle club will be of benefit too ..

This would be the most comprehensive list I have seen and its recent.

I've got a paperless 52 Triumph Thunderbird and I'm in the Auckland VCC so should not be a problem.
I would not start with any VTNZ places unless they were recommended as in my experience they know 5/8 of FA.
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.
