Is "stiction" the right word to describe suspension binding under loads extreme enough to make it flex whilst moving through its stroke?

    No.

Stiction is the friction that has to be overcome to make something move, eg the suspension.

I note that Mr Birt has mastered Bastianini but has trouble with Espagero. His pronunciation of Bagnaia though is jarring. He has been around the scene for some years but who he has been talking to is anybody's guess. It's not like we are perfect but then we don't spend years around the riders. It shouldn't require a mastermind to ask the riders how they pronounce their names.

    That's my understanding too.

    Wot a race!

Crasher's wager doesn't look too silly either. Roll on Austin.

His offsider last year tried hard to make correct names filter through to Harris by some form of osmosis, but the apparently-innocuous name Bastianini continues to elude the tosser, and I don't expect any improvement this year. Fucks up the telecast so much for me that I regularly listen with the sound OFF, at least I can follow the race without grinding my teeth twice a lap...
I quite like Nick Harris, but the fact that all the criticisms in your rant are true makes me wonder why :-)

    Great huh, pritch ?
I laughed in the first few seconds when Harris made his first cockup.

Not to spoil, for those that haven't seen it,the start saw a few upsets.Upsets, that they tried to undo.
    Sky coverage great to have.

Yep fantastic race. Pleased (and surprised) for Rossi (and Gaz).

Looks like a great season with Ducati back in the mix making it a 3 horse race.
It's OK to disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.

Awesome racing, just the start we wanted for the season.
MM impressed finishing where he did.

Can't wait for the next one.

Must admit I was remembering the 2007 Ducati ,but maybe not quite the speed difference ?
Vale's choice of tyre might have made that little bit at the end ?
