    Another tyre pic

the bike is going to visit the WOF man soon and I just noticed this little beauty on my front tire. Am I going to die on the way to the shop? Is the WOF man not going to care? Should I spread some raspberry jam on on it? Should I order a front tire now, or remain in denial?

I think you already know the answer.

Slow ride to the bike shop.

Fill the gap up with some selleys no more gaps and use some black spray paint to make it look good as new. Good to go for 5,000km easily. True story

Not another pun thread.... You don't want to rubber up people the wrong way.

I think this tyre is showing the beginnings of delamination. At first it looked like someone ran a blade across the tread, but if you look at the tread grove, you'll see that the slice its not a straight line. I looked in my byke maintenance log and it seems Ive had this front tyre on the byke about ~21000kms. I am close but not at the wear bars yet. This is a cross bias ply tyre, if any tyre nerd cares.

VTNZ picked up the Hornet's rear yesterday for being just below legal... It'd only done 21k. I reckoned I could have got a couple more thousand easily Oh well, into the shop while I'm away for a week, the replacement has been on the shelf for a couple of years anyway...

OP, 21k, not bad, there is even crack between the grooves... quite possible that tyre is old?
