Wink New Toy in the Garage

Well it wont be spending much time there anyhow

But after a few months of having nothing sitting where past mounts have lived, and weighing up what I wanted next, I blew a few pennies on a new ride

    2000 ZX-12R A

So far seems to go as good as it should, just got to dial in the suspension as whoever had it previously knew sweet F/a and had everything wound up to max front & rear

Nice. Had one the same colour also.
    Great bike.
Be careful if you ride hard two up without the suspension set hard it can drag the fairings in hollows mid corner.
Its not a very nice black plastic look when it touches down.
Has the belly pan area been repaired? I don't remember mine being black. Maybe it was scraped and repaired.

No repairs anywhere on it or scuffs etc, only got 22k on the clock, and apart from the tail tidy, hugger & pipe its basically stock. Came with original unmarked can & bits plus the Silver book outlining the design development

The suspension was as rigid as, even my 110kg wouldn't budge it bugger all, & on the road it skittered around way to much and just felt plain nervous..... it's better now but I'll get better before I start giving it the mumbo

Nice. I think mine may have been a B model. It might have been 2003.Was the same silver without the black pan. I managed to scratch both sides on my first 2 up ride over the hill. Mine was likely set for a 80kg wet rider when I got it.

Skittering back wheel is something you may need get used to.
You can get a slide and wheelie going at the same time coming out of corners (disclaimer closed road only).

The way it was set up it would've spat me into the undergrowth if I'd given it the push, as it was I had to ride 70km home in the rain when I got it so felt it get a bit loose a couple of times
had the slide & wheelie thing happen a few times on other bikes so this wont be any different sure there's a cager in ChCh who still has nightmares of a big black bike goin around the outside of him doing that.....the look on his face was priceless

Think it'd be parked up since the quakes and the previous owner did stuff-all kms per year anyhow......apparently he took nearly 3mths to clock-up 850kms on the brand new ZX-14 he traded this in on

Nice ride! But the last line made me crack up...must have sold the bike thinking it's just too dodgy for him?
