I dunno about bigger is better - probably necause of the heat loss ..

But I fitted Wave discs to my smaller bandit and they are brilliant ..

    Got them from here ..

Reason for needing advice is that i'm looking at fitting 17inch yamaha FZ wheels to my bike, and need a 250mm OD disc with a bolt pattern of approx 80mmpcd. Been scouring web but cant find anything similar.

Why fit such a small disc?

    Standard size on NX650

was fine on the 21inch front, so will be much better on the 17. Dont want too much friction when off road on uni tyres.
