I got my new baby! 28k on the odometer imported from japan 4 years ago, Yes shes rough around the edges but who cares!
Anyone have idea on how to remove oxidation looking stuff from the motor and frame? not really keen to repaint it as im trying to keep it original. what are these worth in average condition? can only find mint ones on trademe for 5-8k also can anyone tell me what the little cylinder above the back wheel with the hoses going into it is?? CHEERS CUNTS.

You mean you stole someone else's baby?

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

I read somewhere today as Im rebuilding my partners CBR. I read that using a non-scratch scouring pad you use for dishes works well for cleaning motors. Im going to give it a try on the weekend and let you know if you'd like.

Wot Rhys said, soda blasting does work, but care must be taken to completely remove all residue or else it starts eating the ali.
Result is instant and mostly permanent.

I have a plastic drill attachment that looks like a revolving wire brush. the plastic has small grit in it that you activate by using it on concrete then your away. Works a treat on engine housings if you want to go to bare ally.

Its off the shelf from Bunnings.

I also took the paint off my petrol tank with it.

Just skinny enough to get between air fins also.
Theres different versions also that the bristles face down.
About $15 and has done a tank plus brick engine and forks. That's used about 1/4 of its bristle length.
