Holy shit check out the short take off of that biplane (and the angle!). Never knew they did that!

Bike looks amazing too (well the dash layout is a bit ag, but still cool)

Here is a less 'refined' radial bike.

Classic bike or one of the other worthies did a road test on one. In general, even classic road tests need to be interpreted as they are never directly critical. However in this case it was fairly obvious that the tester didn't really enjoy the experience as it was on the OMG side of quirky. All that mass spinning around the front wheel... shudder....

One of the things I like about really old bikes is that you can see all the alternate ideas on how to build a bike. In this case its wasn't really such a great idea...

Yes left me wondering why the engine wasnt in the rear wheel and what the gyroscopic effects would be on the steering and handling?
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

I wasn't aware the Megola with the rotary engine was anything to do with BMW.
BMW's first motorcycle was a copy of a Douglas flat twin.
I think it was called a Victoria, Megola is way cooler.

Less than 20 years later they were making these for Me 262's

    Clever those Germans
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

Fantastic!! And love the back story!
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

It's the lateral thinking that does it for me. Imagine some engineer sitting at morning tea with his aircraft building mates, and they decide to build a radial motor into a front wheel just for laughs. Imagination is the master of invention.
