    Here 's mine.
1988 GSXR1100. I got it a couple of weeks ago off Ebay. It was somewhat as described except for the leaking forks, 3 different shades of red and the buggar wouldn't idle. I fixed the forks. I found the airbox seam split so had to add some nut plates to hold it together, that also has the added benefit of now being able to remove the airbox from the frame without having to completely dismantle the rest of the bike. I found 2 of the carb slide diaphragms split so replaced those.
Still wouldn't idle. Many thanks to Grumphs International Tuning Services (or G.I.T.S. for short) for recommending fiddling with the pilot screws and hay presto, fixed.
It will never be a minter like Crashers but is really tidy and a good bang for the bucks spent.
I had an '86 1100R last century and after reading this thread just had to have another. When (if) I get bored with it I will always easily be able to get my money back.

My GSF1200 with an opened up airbox and jetting makes a wonderful noise at revs. I can only imagine what a GSXR1100 sounds like.

One day I may track down some 750 cams and a head for it.

That's OLD G.I.T.S. to you please mate....
Brings back memories, looking at that. Nice bikes but never the easiest to work on. And the one long ride I ever did on one, I didn't think I would ever be able to stand upright again. Nice on track though.

To be honest, my 1100G, completely stock including the muffler and is what I imagine an electric bike would be like to ride. virtually silent & no need for the gearbox at anything over 80km.

The rocker cover was a bit weepy here and there so I bought some new seals and opened it up.
I expected to helicoil some or all of the threads that the rocker cover screws thread into but wasn't expecting this.

Ha, only just seen this...i got used to shit like that when i did a lot of TQ GSXR750's. If it wasn't broken like that, my fix for stripped threads there was to retap to 10x1.5 and make up an insert from 10mm threaded steel rod, tapped 7x1.0...Wind it in hard using loctite, cut it off and grind flush. Even the speedway guys never buggered one of those.
