Im watching the India/ Pakistan game.
Pakistan pre world cup looked bad here. Trying to work out if they were bad or we were good.
Im thinking they were bad. India only 2 down in the 39th over.

At least the game* of cricket is played in substantial numbers of countries around the globe and has quite a lot of fans. Sadly the rugbyists' pale in comparison.

*It is a game, NOT a sport.

Well, if the priority was to watch slow-moving poseurs trying to convince their followers they are doing something worthwhile in an atmosphere of corrupt practices with the outcomes bought and paid for, then yeah, cricket or parliamentary TV, not much difference...

I'm sure the Honda riding cricket fans would be keen to know if it's auto lube or just mix it in the tank.

Why is it that whenever a sport is mentioned in NZ, someone has to comment on the fact that it is more popular than Rugby?

    So fucking what?
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

Simply stating a fact that one game has a far greater following (audience? revenue stream?) than another.

    Nope.
A "game" has a set of rules that both competitors (individual or team) abide by.

A "sport" you are competing against Mother Nature.

How goes the saying "There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely games.” E. Hemmingway.

I would tend to add to that list, BASE jumping and also wingsuit jumping. No rules, just you Vs MN.
