At least the game* of cricket is played in substantial numbers of countries around the globe and has quite a lot of fans. Sadly the rugbyists' pale in comparison.

Well, if the priority was to watch slow-moving poseurs trying to convince their followers they are doing something worthwhile in an atmosphere of corrupt practices with the outcomes bought and paid for, then yeah, cricket or parliamentary TV, not much difference...

Nope.
A "game" has a set of rules that both competitors (individual or team) abide by.
A "sport" you are competing against Mother Nature.

I would tend to add to that list, BASE jumping and also wingsuit jumping. No rules, just you Vs MN.
