    Here to 331KPH

We’re confident the H2R is going to break 200mph; after that we’re into the unknown.

We speed tested the road-going Kawasaki H2 just a few weeks ago and it kicked sand in the face of the Suzuki’s Hayabusa, smoking it to 180mph while becoming the fastest-accelerating bike we have ever tested at MCN.

Normal production bikes are restricted to a manufacturers’ agreement of 300kph (186mph) but Kawasaki has thrown the rulebook in the bin with the H2R; they say there are no speed limits or restrictors.

The only limiting factor is the size of the rider’s coconuts.

    Sounds great

On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

I reckon the Veron must have held back a bit.
Massive hype train for this bike. Just as bad as the Mayweather Vs Pacman fight but not nearly as bad as state of origin.

Reckon there is anyone with enough coin to bring a H2R down there?

So the Kawa sensation has been beaten by a Datsun, albeit a souped up one...or maybe drag racing just bores me?

When Ed stick his Shorai batteries in it and it looses most of its weight its gonna be a shit load faster I'd Imagine

I think the Veron is a very heavy car...for a supercar.

Gotta say, all very impressive kit but given the choice I'd take any of the three cars over the H2R.

Straightline speed is surely best done with your mate in the front seat packing himself?

Yea it's not the lightest, my understanding is it's built more round top speed than acceleration (could be why it was the only 1 with a standing start)

8L V16 with 4 turbos. I reckon he held back, if I owned a car and only 420 of them existed I def wouldn't thrash it.

I don't know the H2R has twice the power to weight ration of the Veyron (.288 vs .572 according to the calculator I used) & if you own a Veyron you can afford the maintenance so what's the point of racing if you're know gonna race... Hell what's the point of owning a Veyron if you're not gonna have some fun

To make up for something? Cos you can? Cos you're a collector? I reckon more billionaires own Veyrons than do millionaires.

Re: Power to weight, at 80mph, aerodynamic drag (for both bike and car) starts getting pretty significant. These things are hitting that after, what, 3 seconds?
Drag increases as a square of speed iirc as well.

Imagine if you add 600kg of aero drag to a 300kg bike+rider. You can multiply your power to weight figure from before by .33.
Now add 1000kg of aero drag to a 2000kg car+driver. Multiply your figure by .67.

You see where I'm going with this (I hope).

Drop a bit of moisture on the track and see how they go.............
