My intention wasn't to get into an argument with the guy, I knew the price was too high and was hoping he would realize this too and offer a more realistic price, no harm no foul... Yip, I ended up trolling the guy but as I said he didn't need to respond and make it public.

The second part to the story was that Scooterazzi in Wellington wouldn't sell me one either. After hearing the symptoms they told me I didn't need one and explained how to fix it without spending a cent! Scooter is now running perfectly. That's good customer service. In return I brought some Pirellis for the triumph off them and will go straight there in the future.

So, "no harm no foul", you got excellent service elsewhere, sorted your problem out, and overall are happy?

Which I guess is your point - customer service can be very important for repeat business.

He ruined his own auction, he didn't have to reply to my questions and he didn't have to be an arse. What I was trying to achieve was to purchase a used part for a fair price His quote was nearly twice the price of a new part and he got all pissy when I challenged him. how many people does he overcharge because they don't know any different?

Terry bought some Jawa stuff off me a few years ago. Turned up here at home in bare feet and the arse hanging out of his jeans (literally) and told me what I was selling wasn't what I had advertised and wasn't that particular year...yada yada yada. Iv'e had Jawas for over 40 years (raced them for more than 35 years and I think I know them rather well). The guy's a and his bits are over priced. I'd certainly not deal with him again, I'd rather give parts away than have him insult me again
