    Best for polishing?

Just wanting to know what you all prefer to use when cleaning and polishing your bikes, I have been recommended pledge or sheen is that ok to use considering its used for wooden furniture. Autosol is the best for exhaust systems so I have been told.

Be careful not to get polish/wax/oil on your rubber wheels. Polish reduces traction. We like traction.

I've used autosol as a general metal polish and always found it to be great. Just be patient.

I've used pledge for cleaning my visor - but using it sparingly.

I tend to just use ordinary cheap car wash and wax for most of the bike, but I'm not very particular.

For cleaning, Moto Muck, spray the bike, all parts/all over, wait 10 minutes and hose it off.
I am a big believer in Turtle Wax.

Don't pledge the seat, it will lose all grip that your arse requires.

I like the Mothers Ally and Metal Polish.
I have Meguiar's Quik Detailer for between washes. This is better than furniture spray polishes that I used before. Also it lasts a very long time as you don't need use a lot.

This is me too. I use Meguiars 3 part polish for the big job and then detailer in between. Got some fancy shit from work for washing grease off trucks that works a treat for a good wash down first.

Ditto the Mothers and Meguiars metal polish for any uncoated alloy or stainless steel. The gloss lasts longer than the older generation polishes and its easier to use.

If your paint is in good condition - I'd recommend Turtle Wax ICE Liquid polish. Unlike a lot of other products you can actually use this on plastic bits too. That means you won't get those ingrained white bits of old polish if you get any on your seat or controls etc. Its also really easy to use.

Bits like frames etc that are hard to polish I'd go with a silicone spray but DON'T get it on your tyres and DON'T spray it about with gay abandon as it settles on the ground and as you roll the bike away - guess what....

Truck wash called CT18 (dunno who makes it) is great for the first wash.

For cleaning furry alloy on your bike, Marvel Mystery Oil is the dog's danglies. There is a video on you tube worth watching.

For cleaning exhausts. Coke (the stuff you drink, not the stuff you put up your nose) and aluminium foil (use the shiny side) works miracles. My exhausts when I bought my bike were darker than the Earl of Hell's waistcoat. After a few treatments of Marvel Mystery Oil and the coke and aluminium, they are shiny again!

Recently polished the headers on my bike using Autosol, after sanding the worst of the pitting down.
Tis a lot of work, but it came out looking mint.
Good technique will save you a lot of time.
Dell Boys Garage on Youtube has a great little vid.
Basically use long thin rags, wrap them around the pipe twice, and run them back and forth.
