    I bought another bike

Too good of a deal to pass up, so now I have 2 steeds in the shed, the van is outside...

    So what did I buy?

Yup... everyone's buying a bandit. I can see why though, this beast is a tourque monster. I started riding it home down an 80km/h in 3rd gear and it was barely revving.

A bit comfier than the Z1000.

On that note, anyone want to buy a Z1000?

Might have to start a Bandit thread.
Mine was delivered today at 2pm and I have installed the boulevard rack via home made adaptions.
I have the pack rack mounting rails if anyone needs some. From 2005 / 1200
Mines got pogo stick suspension that needs sorted.
Ordered a new oil filter since extent of loving is unknown.

1200s are much better than the 1250s that have to cart around all that extra weight with radiators and silly computers.

Your name is relevant to your bike now

As far as I can tell everything is fine for my bike except the candle they call a headlight.

It has just had valve clearances done, oil with filter, cleaned the K&N air filter, new radiator. Bonus is it has full Givi Rack for panniers and top box, heated grips and a cigarette lighter outlet by the handlebars.

Only thing immediately on the to do list is a new bulb for the headlight. Maybe LED, maybe halogen.

I need to sell the Z1000 before I think about 'zorst, seat or luggage upgrades.

sounds like a decent touring setup
suggest 2 wide angle flood lights to fill in the corners, esp for slow speed corners up close.
the trianglar light setup isnt the greatest.
Ventura do a nice headlight protector
does it have the centre stand-so easy to use

Noticed mine wasn't bright when putting it in the garage. Im guilty of only riding it for 30 metres so far. Its howling down.
Just ordered an oil filter. Judging by the loose chain ill need give it some loving.

It has the wires for flood lights, but they were removed when the radiator was replaced. Could be an easy mod for a quiet arvo.

It has velcro in place where a headlight protector once was, easy fix, just not a priority at the moment (until I find a cheap one).

Yea, has the center stand, easy to use with the givi rack. First time I've had a bike with a center stand... Heavy fucker to lift onto when I didn't get the technique right

Yours is mint. Mines a lot rougher and has 80k.
That Givi set up is gold.
There is a 21litre givi pannier set for sale on tardme 150reserve.

Not great condition and maybe a bit small but cheap.

Apparently these racks won't work with the E series panniers (according to the seller, they are for the V35 etc.).

Mines done no way near as many K's as yours...... it's only got 79,290 K's

Ex rental bike. Real good nick, the gear box is so smooth compared to every other bike I've ridden.

    good idea the crash guards
suggest Suzuki DL 1000 hand guards they should fit the hydraulic clutch setup (might be wrong but they are really worth it)

    have fun.

There is a bit of an issue with the projector lamps in the 1200 bandits, had it with mine. Only fix is to disassemble the front fairing and remove the headlight assembly. Bake it in the oven at 50 degrees to loosen the silicon then take it apart and clean the inside thoroughly. The problem is the low beam lens is held in place with a metal ring, with vibration it slowly grinds the lens and coats the entire thing with a thin layer of dust. A little bit of instant gasket around the outside of the lens when reassembling fixes it.

In a month yours will have more than mine. I don't ride. I modify and clean them. I haven't even got the MV to its first service yet.
