A patch you will see appearing across NZ soon is the BACA one .... (Already in Auckland with groups pending in many other parts of NZ)
BACA stands for "Bikers Against Child Abuse" and their motto is "No Child Should Live In Fear" their goal is "To Empower Children" and they receive referrals to children that are physically, emotionally or sexually abused and "adopt" the child into the 'BACA Family' and provide support and if necessary a 24 hour guard on the child, they are NOT a vigilante group, not an MC (1% or 99%) not a biker group, they are a Not For Profit Charity and just happen to be all Bikers
BACA was started in UTAH USA in 1995 by a social worker that saw a need and met it, now BACA is in numerous states across USA and in many countries around the world and growing.
The theory is .... many people wont argue with a bunch of bikers, and the alleged offender tends to steer clear when the bikers take on a childs case, they find also the child is far more confident and stronger and willing to testify, knowing he/she has a strong bunch of committed friends that will do anything to protect them.
One problem with the police and social agencies is many of them are time limited and can not provide round the clock protection, BACA members aren't restricted by time and always find members that can respond any time any day or night should the child or guardian (that is supplied with 2 members cell phone numbers) needs support .... sometimes its 2am and the child has had a nightmare and is scared, the BACA members will rock around and reassure the child. Or the offender is around and they are concerned.

There are a couple other groups worth looking at that have started recently that is also targeting at risk children, one is in Hawkes Bay called the White Eagles, the other is in Auckland called BRO-CCAAB and both can be found on Facebook.
I like the concept too that while these groups are bikers, they are close knit and rather than just get out for social rides, they are going to make a direct impact on a serious NZ social problem (we are the 3rd worse country for child abuse) and these 3 groups of bikers will help these children to grow to be good citizens as they grow.
