    Good Cop/Good Cop

the fuzz get beaten up a bit on here so thought i would share a different sort of story..........a mate of mine ran out of gas on the northern motorway headin south just before the Lonely Track Road overbridge and was looking at long uphill push to get to the gas station on Oteha Valley Road......started pushing when a couple of cops showed up...in different cars...one stayed with his bike while the other gave him a ride to the garage and then gave him a lift back to his bike which also meant having to go all the way up to the silverdale exit to get back on the south lanes again........good bastards....

yup, but also proactive traffic policing. putting the fence at the top of the cliff instead of the hearse at the bottom.
cart ya mate to the get gas means he is not walking on the side of the road and chancing getting taken out creating a shit load of work and paperwork for said constabulary, other cop waits with bike meaning it don't get pinched meaning less hassle from insurers and less paper work and happy customer who will show some respect.
    good stuff

The tickets in the mail for running out of petrol on motorway lol....

    Meanwhile on betterworkstories dotcom....
"We took a biker into voluntary custody to gather intel under the guise of helping him get gas. In the meantime my partner fitted a tracker to his bike".....

All joking aside yes there are plenty of good buggers amongst them helping people out.

Mate of mine said back in the day, his pocket rocket ran out of gas in the gully down in Welly. Stunning lady cop gave him a lift to the gas station. She never said anything about the lack of reg, WOF or the fact he unhooked a bungee cord to lift the fuel tank off!!!

In the 70's I had been in Auckland visiting family. On the way home to the mainland, I was passing through Taupo on a damp evening when my Mini died, I had no idea what was wrong when a traffic cop stopped and asked if I needed help. I told him the story and he grabbed a can of CRC 5.56 from his boot and removed the distributor cap, sprayed everything, put it back together and started it. He said it was a common problem. I was so happy to have it running again.
Pryor to this cops just gave me tickets when they saw me, especially when I was on a bike. (not sure why)
