    GSX-R1000 K4 mirror help

I have stock mirrors on my k4 Gixxer.
The stalk pivots at the fairing end and then there is a ball joint at the mirror end.
The issue I have is that the stalk pivot bolt works loose over time and the mirrors fold in on themselves in the wind.

Eventually, my left hand mirror must have stripped the thread because it fell off completely on the motorway!

Suzuki say this isn't unusual on bikes this old.

I like the design of the new Gixxer mirrors. The mirror glass itself adjusts (like in a car) and folding in the stalk requires pushing past a springlock.

So I'm thinking of retro-fitting the newer versions.

My question is has anyone else does this? The mount to the fairing is at a slightly different angle. Does anyone know if this angle difference is too great to be adjusted out?

Failing this - anyone got any experience with the aftermarket indicator in mirror ones? http://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/191705594140

    Cheers in advance

The issue is that I do fold them when I'm lanesplitting or parking in tight spots so I don't want them too tight....

I fixed them for a bit buy greasing the shaft (but not the thread) so I could tighten the bolt but moving the shaft wouldn't turn it....

Regardless - one mirror is goneburgers on the Southern motorway and I like the idea of indicators there....

I have some that are either the same or very similar to those. They work as advertised but they don't feel any more expensive than they are. I have to tighten the left one up periodically or it starts folding in a little at high speed.

Do a search for Pig Spotter Mirrors - several different types - If I had a gixxer I'd put them on instead of the standard ..

Ha was just about to suggest only getting those if you don't mind seeing virtually nothing behind you. I've got a pair on my bike and the only use they really serve is passing WoF's.

Bar ends look cool but they seem a bit counterproductive for lane splitting.

I do use my mirrors so don't want pigspotters.
Bar end counterproductive for lane splitting and I dislike the look.
Want original style, but not Folding in in the breeze

They do exactly what the name suggests .. spot pigs ... why do you need to see anything else behind you? It's all in the past ...
