Delving into the interwebby thing there appears to be some mixed feelings about the MT10-Anyone looked at the MT-03 yet?-180KPH from a 300-Torque looks good and priced pretty right.Made in Thailand at Yam factory I understand.
I really like the formula one type flashing light strip that tells you when to change gear,gimiky?-maybe?
I was seriously looking at the MT-07 but now having a bit of a rethink.

MT-07? Get a test ride and let me know what you think. It's very high on my list of lotto purchases for our local roads, well, the Tracer is.

My mate turned up to a ride today on one.
Still not sure how I feel about them, I definitely don't like the head light but other than that it's a hell of a bike for $20k.

I think Yamaha has done really well with the MT line up. Every bike is similar but each are different enough to be desirable on its own.

I saw the one Asher is talking about yesterday too. Didn't like the grey with Fluro wheels. Loved everything else..... Smaller in real life. Colour mine blue.....

Interesting review. The brakes cop flack but he had the ABS kicking in, not sure if it was front or rear, though.

Agree - note about the master cylinder is interesting regarding brake 'feel'.

When did a 6,000 rpm start of grunt become 'midrange' - a 12k redline I'd state idle to 4k as bottom end, 4- 8k as midrange and 8 - redline as top end. But that's just me - divide by three.

    And I would agree.
Mentioning fuel economy, he said most of the test was in the top quarter of the rev range, 2nd and 3rd.... Gives a clue to riding style. I doubt that motor would be found wanting anywhere in the rev range and would probably be quicker and smoother over the ground in 3rd and 4th.

The more I read about Yamaha's new family, the more intrigued I get. His comments comparing the triple to the four are interesting, too.

I recall reading somewhere that the MT10 has standard brake hose, not braided. Personally, I like a bit of pre-load in my braking, gets the plot settled before the anchor goes out.

I do like the way those engines sound! And their triples for that matter.

I didnt mind that colour. Grey looks way better in real life than in the photos.

Zapf did. Rear suspension is too soft, front too hard. He's just received a Nitron rear shock to try and sort.

Would like to hear how he finds the nitro. I'm still waiting patiently for the bike to arrive.

According to Dave Moss the factory suspension is setup wrong. And he is right.

Read this.... its for the R1 however most of it applies to the MT10 http://feelthetrack.com/testing-prog...r1-case-study/

Summary, the rear shock is beyond saving. Front suspension is too stiff. I am hoping with a good rear shock I can find a balance that works with the factory front so I don't have to spend pennies on front suspension.

Yesterday had the Nitron installed by Motorcycle works out in East tamiki. On the way home the shock feels HEAPS better already, the kick in the backside is gone and already feel more confident inspiring.

Tomorrow I will go on a tuning ride out the country side to dial them in.... will write more after tomorrow.
