Weird. I'd have thought if you went in today to rego it they will take your money but the label's rego date will be effective from next week. As in not registered legally this week but kicking in next.

Sorry to heard about your child.

My mum died of cancer when I was 8 years old, so she said fuck all. Still nobody gave me a motorbike to use, although it would have given my crushed childhood spirit quite a lift.

When you put it on hold, there is a 3 month period in which IF you re-register your vehicle, THEN you have to backpay for the entire period from when you placed it on hold (even though you haven't used it since then).
If you register it today, your cunning plan will be in vain. Sadly.

Yes. But my currently registered bike say expires on the 10th on next month. I can go in on Monday and register it for another XXX period that will start from the 10th.

If it was currently expired the same system should also allow me to register it again starting from the 10th. Not legally valid until the 10th and the rego sticker will confirm that.

Fuck it - I willl rego it today. Bus is 1.5 hours extra time (one way) wasted that I could be with my son. Bike journey to job is 15 mins each way.

you can rego online for 1 month, Which is like ~50$ (138 for 3 months I think). Not sure, if the requirements are different if taking off hold

Why do people who don't understand licence exemption always feel the need to make stupid incorrect comments on the matter?

They are different when taking it off hold, it has to have been on hold for at least 3 months; otherwise you have to back-pay those three months.
