    Places to ride around Hamilton?

    Hi Guys,

I recently moved to Hamilton from Auckland and want to get back to riding after 2 years break. I use to ride mostly at the Sandpit when I was in Auckland.

Being new to Hamilton I am not familiar with riding places around here.

I have been on the silver bullet page and found some trail rides that are coming up.
Are there any mx tracks/trails that are close by for some casual riding and to get familiar with my Husabeg fx450 which I recently bought to get back into it.

    Any info appreciated.

Head south from Auckland take the bypass around Hamilton.

    Continue south.

A bit of banter... it's a slow day in the shop.

The one problem with that scenario is that I highly doubt the guy in the boat would say that if he saw that lump of "land" in the middle of the ocean.....

FYI. The sign on the gate at Whatawhata track says that it is closed permanently.

That link was 2008, shame that it is closed.
Here is a 2011 thread asking the same question..http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...tracks-Waikato.

I never thought it would be this hard to find a place to ride.

Whatawhata closed, Kimmy's closed, Thundercross too wet to ride, no trail rides this weekend.

Looks like I have to wait till the Desert storm.
