    1999 W650 sidecar

Sorry its been quite awhile since my last post.

The sidecar was finally finished, certified and officially allowed on the road two or three years back, didnt take long for something to break (lower front attachment) so a a rethink on the chassis and an increase in diameter of all 5 attachment points, we found a tiny amount of flex on the inside chassis box section rail, so improving the cross members position, enlarging the chassis rail and positioning of the long struts made her rock solid.
Now after many rides, some quite spirited riding and a few thousand kilometers without any issues I can say what a fucking blast it is to drive

Still stock steering, fitting the flatter Avon vintage sm front tyre removed the very slight 15km head shake that I couldnt quite tune out, basically zero toe in if any its extremely slight, lean is only apparent with rider on bike, sits perfectly level unladen. Chair wheel has a very slight lean in at the top so sits basically straigh up and down when loaded while turning away from chair
Cruises 100kms at 3500 rpm all day, but not if a strong head wind and climbing decent hills its down a gear and about 80kms but have travelled at 120kms many times with dog or small adult, all speedo speeds so not confirmed.

Home made with Stentos huge input, HD spoked rim with 1 inch axle, HD fender, Hagon made to suit horizontal shocky on Bellcrank type setup. The body is just an old velorex we chucked on, can change the body if inclined.

Nice little bike, very similar to a T120 , but much more user friendly, lovely gearbox OE suspension was soft , obviously built for massive 65-75kg max riders. single front disc works nicely and rear drum brake does what it should. no noticeable flex in the frame at all.

.. the Avon AM7 Safety Mileage Mark II has a slight rounded corner and rides a bit smoother - Avon Sidecar Triple Duty 3.50-19 also works well up front - i like heidenau on the rear - good long-lasting high wearing combo

.. nice chair frame - the velo 560 frame is a bit weak
.. have also used an mz anti sway bar-help keep rear and chair in sync
.. is the steering stem hollow?
.. did you consider building a subframe to attach the chair?
Be who you are and say what you feel cos those who mind don't matter and those that matter don't mind.
