been a while since anyone said BOO on this thread.
So I decided to pull it up and say hi to all the XS11 riders out there.
According to motor registrations there are only 5 of theses old girls still in use on the road in NZ, is that because we are all waiting for summer before registering them under the new bullshit price?
So for those of you who have been tinkering with their XS's, any progress?
Mine are itching to go for a run now that the weather has improed.
I am also looking for a couple of parts if anyone has them lurking in their bits and pieces boxes.
A (from the left side) carb body, I have two sets, and the no two carb on both sets are US. one has a broken float post the other a jambed choke valve. it has to be the no2 carb as each carb has different fittings and are nit interchangeable.
I am also still looking for a 79 E right hand side cover.... hens teeth.
Any way here are a couple of pics to whett your pallette

    What was the plate/vin?

Might be one of the ones in da's shed - Last count saw 5 in total, mix of 750's and 850's.....

I want to cafe one of the 850's......but it looks less and less likely as the days continue. I still have to sort that SRX and get that out the door first.

Nup sorry - don't have that one. Its been used since 2001, which from recall was the last time any of these were on the road.

A long time since I have seen any posts in this thread,
I came across a modified XS1100 today on a thread,
Yup it is an XS1100, well the motor and front half of the frame is.

As much as I think it's an ugly pile of munterage, I'm impressed with the engineering on the front end, got a link to the thread? or more pics?

Even BP would shy away from cleaning up a sidecar oil spill.

    here it is
yes it does look ugly I agree, but it allows for thought on what can be created.
The thread follows the building of the whole bike.
