    Engine/Gearbox Oil

my gearbox is notchy/noisey/clunky (yes, its a honda) and i was wanting to change/top it up incase it was running low or too thin.
after looking through my haynes manual, i cant find anything on gearbox oil.
so i can only assume it uses the engine oil.

    is this correct?

    thanks in advance, jeremy

it is motor oil but you should get motorcycle specific oil , try supercheap, repco or motomail might be open today. new oil and filter would be best, semi synthetic would be more than enough for your old shitter

It uses SAE10W-40 standard bike oil I think from memory (check that).

No separate gearbox oil required, just takes its lubrication from the engine.

Spectro Golden 10/40 will help. It is renowned for gearbox and clutch improvements. Must be the additives they use. Retails for somewhere between $45 and $49 dollars depending where you go.
