Great guy to deal with. He was also happy for me to watch while he did the job and even teach me how to do it for myself next time. However because he's got a professionally equipped workshop at home ... and his charge was extremely reasonable (I guess he doesn't have the overheads of leasing an expensive workshop and running staff) I'll just get him to do it next time!

He's obviously pretty popular with Harley, Ducati and Buell owners as these seem to make up a fair proportion of his work.

Disclaimer: I have no affilitiations with Toby Beadle I just like to plug great friendly service.

I also agree that he provides value and outstanding service.

I looked at getting my really old and worn jacket modded last year by Kerrie, mainly seeing if I could get armour added and also whether I could get my really too tight leather trousers modded. She talked me out of it(and hersef out of some work) by recommending I just go for new leathers.

She gave me some good dvice on how to select some and made a few recommendations.

I subsequently bought some Quasi gear. Brett and Paula were great to deal with and I am really happy with the service and the quality of the gear. The jacket was tight enough to leave bruises on my arms for the first few wears but it now feels really good.

    Cheers to both people.

Yep, Toby serviced my bike whilst at WWH and I have since been to his new home garage. I will stick with his service.

I posted some other threads on KB about his garage and the deals he is doing, such as the $60 basic service package.

LOL...yeah but I'm good and I like a challenge! I did a scooter seat recently...chewed up foam, what was left of the vinyl was brittle and the kid who owned it didnt have the dollars to pay for new foam...If I do say so myself I did a darn fine job, Flashest thing on the bike by the time I'd finished!
You should see what I'm going to have to do to my Ltd seat to get it to fit my womanly butt and long legs...Sheesh! Should end up with small storage space under the seat pan just big enough to store a few essentials.

NEW BIKE PAINTING BUSINESS IN HUTT VALLEY-
I am planning on opening officially on 1st may. Just in process of gearing up and working out prices. Just getting bus cards and flyers printed.
Before I open I hope to get around a few bike clubs (been in touch with quite a few) and race meetings to display some pieces. This is a BIKE ONLY business. Later in year I will be starting a full bike building service, roadrace sidecars, post classic, restoration specialising in early jap, italian and american.
If anyone interested, pm me and I will put you on list to keep you informed.

    Tank repair

I dropped my bike and am keen to get it back in good shape , does anyone know of a specialist in tank repair . I want the best job I can afford rather than giving it to the local panel beater and hoping for the best .

    Angry

DON'T USE Zinc and Chrome Ltd, in Seaview near Lower Hutt, Wellington.
The did a right duff job on rechroming my old VN1500's luggage rack and sissy bar. The prep work was really shoddy - I could tell they didn't spend anytime on rust removal between the rack's cross members. When I saw the job they had done I asked why they hadn't done between the spars and they said they didn't have a hand angle grinder, only a bench grinder!! Yeah, right! A metal finishing company without an angle grinder/polishing machine!! It's metal finishing 101!
Suffice to say it only lasted a couple of months. And boy, they know how to charge!

    Crap job.
    Expensive.
    Poor customer service.
