I've just finished riding 755km on my Shinko E705's on the V strom with no issue to report. Had enough grip for me and just as at home on the gravel as the sealed roads.
A little slippery in the fine sandy dust.

this is my second set of 705's but the 1st set of radial's but has done the same thing
    I've been running 36psi front & rear
so just keep an eye on them, the guys running these on 650's don't seem to be having the same trouble from what I hear so maybe it's just a big bike thing

I concur. Not bashing in any way, manner or form but I don't think they like BMW's, they seem to suffer this problem the most. I'm guessing that is your steed. I have a 705 radial on the back of the TDM & it's giving sterling service on a lardy bike. Weird.
Is your bike a shafty? Could be the common denominator, but why? No idea.

it was doing great... but it can't have liked the weight of two up + pack & panniers... the thing is it only let go on the right hand side of the tyre
will send the pic's up to CT & see what they say
but it is the last time I will use these as the mitas Eo7's work realy well on the beammer & give better k's

The bonding of the rubber to the carcass doesn't seem to be consistent in the bigger sizes.

The Wee is about 30kg lighter than the 1150 to start with and the BMW is a more common candidate for being loaded up...

Just stick a bias 130 section on and it'll all be sweet

This sounds made up to me.

That sounds about right, it would explain his unusual love affair with this tyre

Although increasing in popularity, I am still miffed why Mitas is not more popular here in NZ than what it currently is; great patterns and great compounds for adventure riding.

What are the 705's like on cold wet roads? I spend most of my time commuting but would like a slightly more aggressive tyre than the Tourance on my bike. I've been very happy with Anakees in the past, but the 705s seem a little more aggressive.

I've had a couple of "moments" from the 705 rear on the TDM. In fairness just slight slips on the throttle due to white paint & a polished patch. On a recent ride over the Mangamukas in rain after a long dry spell the bike never moved. Plenty of steeply off cambered corners through there. Over all I'm happy but don't take liberties in the wet. Our roads are atrocious too.
I don't really have reason to criticise them and I can only compare the outright grip to a sport touring tire as the shinko is the only dual porpoise tire I have used.
