Gee whiz, rounding everyone up while they're stopped is a bit cheap, seems they realised that they'd have their hands full if they flicked the lights on during the ride. At least New Zealand will now be safe from the dangers of motorcyclists on deserted roads; baby seals and treehuggers rejoice!
I envy your nakedness black bandit, had a lowside about 50m from home coming back from the ride 2 weeks ago, fairing damage sucks! Happy I decided to skip this ride, the rumours of a Piha ride scared me off.

Yeah, with fairings the damage would have been uuuugggly! Gravel was xtra slippery today. - maybe I need a moto-crosser?

At least licence is intact and damage minimal. Nobody around to point and stare neither.
Sorry to hear that. How'd it happen? Are you ok?

They might have just been responding to complaints from locals... but it wouldn't surprise me if they were watching the forums.

Commiserations to those that got pinged.

I have to traverse this long stretch of gravel road to get to and from home which has steadily been getting worse over the winter. Now it's full of potholes and the bed of the road is rockhard with a sprinkling of loose gravel over the top. Been giving me a few shakes over the last few weeks and tonight I lucked out.

I'm OK really, wasn't doing insane speeds due to the condition of the road. Some parts of my bod are a little sore, my gear's looking a little second hand and the bike's wearing a new set of battle scars. Just glad it wasn't worse and but annoyed that it happened all the same.

Not as annoyed as the few who were pinged on the ride though!

    Thanx

    Hey guys and girls,

Nice meeting you all. The ride was awesome besides the fact I have to get used to night riding. Finished off well with beers and dinner at Albany. Good lot you are!

But I really do feel sorry for those snapped tonight and the ones who had to "walk" home. Lets face the fact, there were a few others who were "naughty" besides the ones who got done and you know who you are! Lol.

To the ones who got done just my 2c worth, please don't pay the fines and at the least write in and dispute. Few things you could mention which I know you probably would have already thought of, but none the less worth a crack.

    There were a few bikes.
They didn't clock you and show you your speed.
It wasn't me was another green ZX 10 R who was with us and gapped it.

Or ofcourse other more feasible excuses you can come up with?
