'False sense of security' if you can't do over 85 km or ride more than 50 km at a stretch not 'confidence'. There is a thin but subtle line. I did not mean to sound condescending, merely caring

I can certainly ride more than 50km, that is just as far as we have gone so far in one stint, 150km has been the actual longest with a stop at the yamaha shop lol, I do have a riding partner, who is well more experienced than me. 85km is comfy for me, my bike is new, so I am also running it in.

Your not being condescending at all... I take all advice and run with it or ignore it...

    On another topic:
I fitted a new rear tyre to the Beemer after that godawful ride last Thurs. Vive le difference! The rear Shinko was well stuffed and was probably half the reason I slid so many times (other reasons; 50 year old eyes, brain fade etc).

Hope to be there tonight maybe on Mrs Idles Buell, the Tyres need running in and she wants the chicken strips rubbed off.

Apologies, but I won't be on the ride tonight. I don't do wet yet. Need a bit more experience before I feel confident enough.
