The honda vt250/250f is 1984 to 1988 and I am looking at buying one with 27000 k's on the clock, anyone got an opinion on these bikes?

bloody good little bikes but get the compression check because my engine went pop (actually bent crank). But great first bike

How does one bent a crank shaft? I thought they are pretty strong.

what do you mean by that? my dads a mechanic, and he said he will check the compression on it, anything else I need to look out for?

the ks are low, its not a bad model bike, but of course, rust/mechanical status ie does it still have it's original oil.... will decide whether it is a good buy.

or are you saying I should check it doesn't have it's original oil? hey look it's a banana!!! as i said dads a mechanic, so hopefully he will spot anything thats going to go wrong in the way of rust, all I need is a bit of spoon feeding as to some specific things to look out for when buying this bike, or any bike in general thanks

is a good reliable bike, under 250cc, 4 stroke, and under $2000 reg and warrant, have seen a couple of nice FXR150's which I wouldn't mind but would prefer something around the 250cc mark, as I am going to be traveling around a bit over summer

It's a 1984 thats done 27000k's, it's got no rego or warrant, so I was thinking maybe around $1400
