That looks pretty good - genuine Suzuki mufflers? The ones on my bike were chrome skin over rust and fell apart when I tried to remove them. Wanted Staintunes but they were going ot cost more than I paid for the bike ($3K)
Currently running a Cycleworks 4-into-1 with a nice quiet CBR600 muffler
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Yeah - it said ENGINES. Some of the other bits have issues (eg electrics)
My own 1100GKs drive had a problem - the splined coupling that mates with the rear wheel hub wore out due to age, lack of lube, road dirt, 80,000km, etc. I got lucky in that I was going for a short trip one week after returning from a South Island tour - the splines failed a the gas station about 200 metres from home and, yes, they are a heavy bitch to push. Got another coupling from Buckets'n'bits - was off a GS650 and fitted perfectly. The coupling gets cleaned and re-lubed (moly grease) whenever the wheel is out now

I ride a 1982 GSX 400 to work most days (100 KM round trip) and that old thing is just bullet proof. They are great old bikes those early GSXes that I just sort of can't leave them alone. Riding from a different era but not without excitement.
If you love it, let it go. If it comes back to you, you've just high-sided!

Seems like I will be sticking with the GS's for a while.

Just upgraded from my '81 GS 250T to an '87 GSX 750 Katana.

It needs a bit of panel work, and a dent filled in in the tank but otherwise its mint.

my dad had a gs850g when i was about 5

he used to walk in every day after work wearing all his gear and i thought he was invincible.
