Man, my luck is shit. Does anyone have a spare NC30 engine they wouldn't mind parting with?

I'll give Gary a call on Monday but thought I check in here first

    Thanks
    Luke

Yep - my racebike. They are hard to kill - except when some idiot (me) forgets to replace a cam carrier bolt. Really gutted. All around the time my other bikes got stolen and I just thought I had done it

Hey Luke, got two spare motors in varying states. Let me know what bits you need?

Need the whole bottom and top end. I haven't taken the case covers off yet but I'm assuming/hoping the clutch and genny are fine. Won't need starter motor or anything to do with the coolant system. Case covers and sump are also fine.

I do have spare heads and special cams so at a push, I won't need those, but I really just want to just get the bike going again first before I start more tuning!

Well I've got one VFR that was run out of oil that I brought for the cases. I have no idea what state it is in internally. The 2nd is a RVF that I bought for the heads, as the valve seats were in better condition than the ones I had. I've also taken the crank and a set of bearings from it, as I fcuked the crank in mine, by mixing up the inner and outer bearings. You're welcome to come out and take a look and work out what is of use to you?

    New exhaust arrived this morning.
Luckily the specifications I sent them for the inlet (angle and diameter) were spot on.
Custom made carbon fibre slip on for $170 is pretty good value!

Might have to get a silencer insert though, it's pretty loud.

Nice, looks good. Looks like a shorty gp race muffler? I got the project running on 2 cylinders last night and man it's quiet! Purrs! Now I know why all my prev vfr's have always had exhaust systems on them...must find some pipes now! (There's a half system in japan for 150$, and probably another 200$ shipping, very tempted!)....

Any thoughts as to front 2 cylinders not firing? I have a small spark, looked a little weak to me but unsure. Have replaced plugs, I'm thinking carbs could do with another clean as they were shocking, my only though is that doesn't the limp home mode restrict firing to the front two cylinders. And should I be checking electrics/cdi? Or does the fact I have spark rule that out?

Dont know if you can see it if you aint on fail book but the blurb is

"Nc21 vfr400, reg on hold, I've never had running and nor had previous owner.

I bought for the electrical system, never used as was different my vfr.
    Offers $500-$1000"
