Hopefully you will find no more suprises after the cam is fitted
did alot of wreckers contacting & Googleing, ended up on ebay (Google search) & part coming from the US. Only other place I could find them was some wreckers in Oz but his price for cam alone was more than the US cam delivered to my door.

Got it off "art and motorcycles2" (dnparker1) he was good to deal with, gave him an offer rather than buy now next day he accepted I paid & from then the part just had to spend 2 weeks getting through shipping & customs. Part showed up as depicted in good cond.

Had tried "Mikes motorcycle parts" (yz12910rv) but after 2 weeks of trying to get a price shipped to NZ (closest he advertised was Oz) Gave up, checked his feedback seems he's in the habit of not replying (or sending) lately, So I wouldn't recommend going near him.

Did you end up pulling the sump off or anything?
Na left sump on, but drained oil. Can't see anything in it, it seems to be a pretty clean break but I have taped some neodymium magnets to the oil filter just incase. This should hopefully keep anything from floating round in there if there is anything.

Hopefully I can get the beast back up by end of day, but given my mechanic skill & knowledge, lets just say I hope Haynes is a good teacher

Was good man, had a few slides here and there, but nothing too major. My rear tire is damn near buggered now. It might last me through Taupo motoTT next weekend, but certainly no more..

How did you go ? I see you were in the medium group by the end of it ?

First session in novice was good, but 2nd lap in and caught up with lead rider, and got a bit bored.
Jumped into intermediate, and just felt too crowded.
Oh well, might just have to wait for the next trackday in May.

    The Beast Was Alive!!!

for a few minutes anyways, till I found her bleeding

Got the cam changed over & clearances remeasured yesterday. Which seemed easier than expected... a little to easy infact. Turns out I was right nothings that easy, so I fix one problem fill her up, she roars into life (love that sound ) only to discover a few min later she's bleeding from the floats? (I think that what they are, under the carbs). So in pieces she goes again I've just spent the morning ripping her apart & hopefully fixing the problem, but Honda don't make their bikes easy to get into I'm sure Nuns are easier to get into then these bikes.

Oh well have lunch & see if I have succeeded. At-least the Cams fixed thats something

I thought about boring it out and porting the heads, but spent waaaaay too much coin on it as is. Maybe when the bank balance has recovered I'll build another trick motor from the 2 spares I've got

Nice, love the coated casings. Didn't do the heads for technical reasons or simply because they're mostly hidden?
