Fork seals done and fitted rick oliver kit. From a ride round the block feels awesome..a lot stiffer, like going from a stock rear shock to an upgraded one. Also new arashi discs (discovered one of the bolts had sheeted off on the oem discs, but managed to drill it out no worries), braided lines, air filter and coolant flushed. Last to do is rick oliver road needles and she should be sorted. Can't decide whether to replace the front rocker cover with the one luke sent me - current one had a small crack, but some high temp metal epoxy sorted it, replacement one would need a paint, does anyone know where to get a high temp paint that closely matches the engine colour?

Ford Metalic Graphite Grey is apparently the closest match, noone seems to know the honda colour code.

Yup, the one off KB that you said was worth $900 lol.

Plan is to get the '89 run operating as my race bike and see if I have enough to assemble the other bike into something operational, if not then I will part it out or keep it as crash spares (hopefully wont need too many of those).

Once the '89 is all race ready I will chuck the number plate back on my NC24 and use it as my road bike, or sell it not sure yet.

    Not $900, but not $1800...

Really felt for the guy he was gutted to sell, he's put a fair amount of time n money into the bike, only selling as his Mrs was giving him a hard time. His loss my gain I guess.
The bike which is all together ish does run, he thinks there is a float stuck open though so that will be the first thing I look at. Not worried about ever road registering it so the work should be minimal to get it track ready (hopefully). If you need any road parts let me know as I will have some stuff kicking around which wont be needed.

I will most likely have to stick the '89 suspension back on it to make it legal for pre '89, but I wont be quick enough for a wee while to warrant such serious measures so I should be fine to keep it in in the meantime. The CAMS club down here is pretty lax, all about racing and not about politics. I might have to look for a 17 rear at some stage but I believe I can find an 18" slick so that shouldn't be too bigger deal.

Was supposed to be here today but looking like Monday, was hoping to get stuck into it this weekend.

Haha sweet, long as you are happy!

For the float - cotton buds (q tips, whatever you want to call them) and autosol on the brass seats as long as the rubber bit on the float needle isn't worn :-) fixed my stuck floats...re the forks - unfortunately I sold my 89 one with gold valves and race tech cartridge emulators, are you allowed cartridge forks since other bikes in the period had them?

I'd be keen on a lh switchgear if you have one?:-) that and fairing bolts lol
