The BT090 looked a bit hard to get a hold of when I was searching, they used to be on the cycle treads website but they aren't anymore.
There is a really sticky Avon AM23 which one of my mates is running on his 89 FZR, not sure if I can match the 17 front though as I am anal retentive and like to have matching rubber front and back.

Thanks for all your suggestions, think the 17" wheel will be the eventual plan, but if I can get something half decent on the 18 I will stick with it

Bt090 is easy to get, ring Boyds in Hamilton, best place in the country for tyres in my opinion, they always beat cycle treads prices by far, my rear cost 200 fitted to the rim, they would send one down for you.

I have used the Dunlop 18 but far prefer the Bridgestone.

I think people get a bit carried away thinking they need this or that, I have spent a lot of time around classic racing and look at some of the odd sized and narrow tyres some of the bikes are using with great success.

    Cheers

I was in there earlier this year to try and find a BT090, they were very helpful, but couldn't even find one in the system to order in.

+1 to Boyds, they are the cheapest in the country by far. I once got a quote from them when I was back home (Hamilton) visiting family for some Rosso 2's for my gixxer. Called the local rip offs (Chch dealers are wankers imo) and asked for a quote, they quoted $200 more. I said, I got a quote for $600, he's like nah, can't do that, so I'm like, here's the quote, I will get them sent down from Boyds and you can fit them. SUDDENLY they could do them at that price. Wankers.

The sport demons I am running on the 24 are an ok tyre, they give a good feel and seem alright in the wet, I'm just looking to the future when I'm faster and want a package which I will be able to push to the limit without worrying if the tyres can handle it.

There's a chap down here who helps out all the racers, I will give him a ring and see what he can get a hold of, did me a deal as good as Boyds on some sport demons a month back, which is saying something!

I can get an RVF motor.. possibly. As far as I can tell theres a few minor wiring loom hurdles to overcome (No biggie for me), the NC30 tachometer may be incompatible, two mounting points may require a thread to be cut and the final drive sprocket is out of alignment as the engine comes.. Is this all? It doesn't seem to bad. Is there any other things to take into consideration and can anyone provide any useful links etc.?

Nice bike mate. What exactly is it though???

Very productive day on Saturday, worked a bit on the NC24 which has been wobbling around going into turn 1 under brakes at Ruapuna. Hoping that the forks were a tad out of line, checked steering head bearing and they seem to be ok.

Got cracking on the NC30 with Askor, took the carbs apart and cleaned them thoroughly. They were a bit of a bitch to get off!
Odd thing we found was it appeared there was SMALLER jets than is stated as standard in the service manual. What is the standard jet size?

Racing on the 24 this weekend so wont be doing anymore on the NC30 till next weekend, hoping that with some oil, fuel and a battery that she will start up, fingers crossed!

    Cheers bro! That explains it.

That is a proper frankenbike! We are looking for a spare front end for the NC30 frame and engine that is spare, don't think it will end up as hardcore as your build though!

    Autech's bike had 115 & 118 mains in it, with #35 pilots.
Are the sparkplugs proprietary honda parts or can you buy them from a generic auto shop? They sure are strange, I hope we wont need a special tool to get them out when we need to

The needles are also front and rear specific, buy plugs from BNT or any auto parts store you can get trade price at, plugs are easy to get out, 13mm deep reach socket and a pickup tool or needle nose pliers, or tape on socket.

    Cheers
