Yes very much so. Make sure you have transferred ownership from the last guy and get it on hold ASAP!

And eBay is your friend. Rear shock is easy to pick with a quick glance if you know what you are looking for - most are stockers though, 89 being no external cannister, 90-93 being external reservoir.

I am fairly sure I have one in a box... the one that was in my bike when I put the Ohlins in it... somewhere

Oh I don't think he's after a shock, I just commented asking what was in it in the hopes that it was an aftermarket unit that he'd want to sell to me

haha yeah dunno about that one.....?

Ebay is my number 1 bookmark for almost everything. Just had a look on there for vfr400 listings and there's shed loads of stuff. This aint going to be half as painful as I thought it was going to be.

    Solo paddock stand fitting

Hi guys, was at Levels in the weekend and found it a real bitch to put the paddock stand in on my own without the side stand attached.

How do you guys approach the task? I was wondering if it is possible to contort your body enough to thread the stand in to the axle while still sitting on the bike? I will try a few different methods in the garage at home with someone near by to catch her if I muck up.

On a brighter note, what a great bike on the track! Can't wait for my first race meeting on her.

When I am putting stands on I just lean the tail section up against my hip while turned toward the rear of the bike. Just be careful not to overbalance in the other direction.

Easy with the rear tail fairing off the bike,I usually hold by the rear subframe as I slot it in, or with the pack rack I hold that :-p.

Agreed on the track comment! When are people next going to Hampton downs?

Possibly this Saturday but looking more and more unlikely. Weather dependant mostly.

Otherwise 9th of Jan at HD and 16th of Jan at Taupo.

Freshly washed and waxed! I hate having white wheels after riding in the wet.

whoa! Now that's a very nice example.

Think I'll get a pic of what I'm about to start working with up on here.

First race meeting at Ruapuna in CAMS on the 24th of Jan providing I can get everything I want to do on her done in time.

Got an issue with the front brakes staying on atm, I've rebuilt the calipers, replaced both rotors and pads and put in all new fluid. I am thinking the problem is in the master cylinder now so will strip that down and see if it is blocked in the little bleed back hole. Tyres are a tad old too (7 years old) and squared off from the previous owner so if I can push the budget I'll slip on some new sport demons.
