Actually, the rear subframe has had all the tabs removed also. No rear footpeg mounts or toolbox/helmet lock/grab rail mounts.

Gday, Hopefully I will be in a position soon to join the "DR Mob" and get a 650, Was wondering if anyone knows if there are any Service Manuals available that cover the later models.

    Cheers

yeah.............i kinda thought that bike was a bit of a weird buy...perhaps a jap import
or a crash damaged and rebuilt one?
still cheap enough buy for someone, btw...could anybody decipher the signature on the seat?

    It has been sold...

$4500, reserve met.....the guy rang and got the low down, so that suggests he was happy. Good on him, some of us were just speculating...guessing...bugger, it has been snapped up.

Went for wander up Kawekas last week to test range with 3.8L fuel container from bunnings ($9.95 bargain), hit reserve today at 247km. Pretty happy with that.

Dont quite understand what you meant, was that your tank plus the container for that range or was that just the main tank?

Nice, care to elaborate on where that is? Cardboard box doesn't tell us much.

whittle rd, not far past the quarry by lotkow rd. There is a sign saying Kaweka rd closed due to extreme snow and ice but no barrier so went for a nosey. If you look on google maps just before whittle becomes kaweka rd there is a track up to the right sign posted as scenic lookout. BTW there was a big dropout just before the end of lotkow rd covering 3/4 of the lane marked by two warratah stakes and some flouro mesh.
Heaps of space up at that lookout spot, be good place for group ride or mini rally if DOC would ok with a controlled camp there. Official helipad site too if you ever want to leave the forest without your bike!

The tank was just on the back for extra traction, just kidding... 247 to reserve was with the 3.8 added in during the journey. The standard 13L tank hits reserve after 10L which so far has been between 160-200km depending on riding style. Wanted an Acerbis 20L tank but had a think and don't need the extra range often enough to justify the cost. Usually want to get off that 4x2 seat after a couple hundred Km's anyway.

Thanks for that, will be looking around for a DR650 soon I hope so was interesting to find out what the approximate range is on a standard tank .
