12th Annual Ride to Work Day

Not that I need to be told this as I do everyday but...

Ride your motorcycle on this day to demonstrate:
    • The number of motorcyclists to the general public and to politicians.
    • That motorcyclists are from all occupations and all walks of life.
    • That motorcyclists can redice traffic and parking congestion in large cities.
    • That motorcycles are for transporttation as well as recreation.
    • That motorcycling is a social good.

Who's idea was it to make "Ride to work day" in the middle of Winter!!??
If the cold wet weather isn't enough to put people off from taking part, (Others!,,, Not me of course!), Then the fact that a lot of people put their bike registration on hold over the winter wouldn't help the cause!

It's an American event. I guess we should start an Annual Southern Hemisphere Ride to Work Day sometime in Feb.

Now, if i can just figure out how to strap 1/2 a ton of tools & gear to the back of the trusty Yam, I should be OK........

I have to go to Hamilton for work on the 16th. If I go through Matamata, out to Walton and through Scotsmans valley there's some good, tight twisty stuff and naff-all traffic... I suppose I could take the bike. I won't enjoy it, though. Not much, anyway.

That's so unfair! I work from home.

Maybe I should take the day off and ride around all day long.

Just remembered I'm not even working that day... perhaps I'll take a tiki tour for the hell of it.

Didn't notice many more bikes today as I drove in missus wouldn't let me take the bike as I'm still recovering from flu.
