'Cornholio' Checking the 'Trueness' of a Cag pinion...

This is for guys that simply can't stand for their bike to have 'goofy' parts that cause drag and/or chain throwing issues with their pocketbikes that seemingly have NO explanation at all...

Oftentimes, Guys will buy a 'new' pinion and install it and then have issues no matter what when they try to 'adjust' their chain alignment to run correctly and 'true'...

Sadly... Pinions that are not of a very good quality may oftentimes come 'tweaked'...



Pinions CAN very easily be checked before they are installed and this WILL save you much grief later on down the road friends...

FWIW, My 'pinion tool' was made entirely in the USA using only the finest of wood scraps, a coathanger, some alphatic resin wood glue, and some 1 1/4" drywall screws... The 'optional features' of this tool include a feeler guage to help measure the 'out of roundness', a flashlight hook in the front to help me see, some Jorgensen hand clamps for easily mounting to any surface, and a special 'beer can resting area' in the back for my 40...


We are very big on 'recycling' around here and ALL of the materials used here both CAN and WILL be used for aother purposes as well friends...

And it absolutely works rockr...

If you turn the pinion until it's 'high' spot is at the top of the rotation and then drop the pointer down until it just slightly rests on either the tip of the tooth or (as in the pics) till it touches the tip of the 3rd bearing support you will then only have to rotate another 90degrees and you can use the feeler guages to measure the 'out of roundness' easily and accurately.

The tool allows you to rotate the bell freely from the backside and also gives a stable platform for changing out any 'wobblers' that you may find...

I like to check pinions before the install as it WILL save time and trouble with the chain later.

I have used some that were .2mm out with no issues but much more than that will contribute to chain throwing and will quickly foul the bearing if running the 3rd bearing support as I do on our bike.



avgas... I am sorry friend but sadly I have no suggestions for dealers near you as I live in the US. I will caution you however about using fleabay as many times non-reputable people will pawn off their 'wobblers' there to unsuspecting buyers...

Don't really have much of a need for all that anymore friend.

When our bike 'launches' most everything that is not tied down really well gets left back at the starting line...
