Injured motorcyclist to be fitted with new computerised leg

Maine, USA – Biker Shane Pero, who tragically lost his leg in a crash, is to be fitted with a new type of computerised prosthesis. Pero will be one of six people in the US to be fitted with the new type of limb.

Pero’s right leg was severed at mid-thigh in the crash. That he is still here to be fitted with the revolutionary limb is due to the quick thinking of passers-by, who rushed to the scene, tearing off their own clothing to apply a tourniquet to his thigh and stop the bleeding.
