Taupo Ride to watch races (13 October)

    Hey SMCers,

See the link for another out of town ride next month. The race is down in Taupo on Sat 13 Oct. Quite a few different classes should be good to watch, or enter if you're game!!!!. Taupo's only another hour or so beyond Rotorua, so not too far - but would mean a little night riding on Friday (even with day light savings).

Or maybe it would be poss to leave Akl around 4.30pm on the Fri and get to Rotorua around 7pm, stay the night there and complete the journet early Sat morning to Taupo...?

    Who's with me?

Come on Ewen, you can miss one ride (Rotovegas in Sep), but missing this one to Taupo would be criminal!! Work some magic, be great to have you along.

Do you know how many racers are confirmed? Any after parties later on Sat night after the racing?

Yeah come on Ewen. I might pull a sicky and maybe we can set out earlier. 4.30pm on a Friday is asking for trouble on Auckland motorway

Now that the Rotorua ride is over, I thought I'd bring this ride back to your attention again and give you'll something to look forward to (and save for) over the next 3-4 weeks.

This will be Round 6 of the Vic Motorcycle Club's Winter Series. At Manfield we get around 250 entries, for Taupo we get more because of how much closer to auckland it is.

The maximum number on a grid is 35 and we were close to that in most of the classes last time.

    Races are
    - Clubmans A/B
    - GP125/Streetstock 150's
    - Post Classics Jnr/Snr
    - SuperMotard
    - Superlight
    - Supersport
    - Superbike

It's a lot of racing and a very cool day. Hehehe but I won't be there ... be sitting in the Lukey Heights Stand at Phillip Island. Only prob with that is that the local boy has already gone and won the damn championship instead of waiting to do it at 'home' - most inconsiderate

Parties? Of course not, these are motorcycle racers. There'll be tea and cakes in the pit area afterwards. Ladies, a plate please.

Cakes, eh? We may be there, in that case.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
